Hey Parents!

It's our first performance night! No Uniforms due to heat/humidity. Our big uniform reveal is yet to come! If your student signed up for the tailgate, that will begin at 4:30.

If they didn't sign up for the tailgate, or this is the first you are hearing of the tailgates, ask your student. There is a google form they can complete, but if you are wanting to pay ahead of time, a credit card is needed. They can also choose to pay at the door. We cannot guarentee meals to student that did not sign up.

We need accurate numbers the week before to provide to our catering partner this year. So if they are wanting to sign up for next week, we have to have numbers today! If there is a financial need, a student can talk to the director(s).

As a reminder, when the kids are in Uniform, there will be no eating and only water (no soda, gatorade, etc) can be drank while in uniform. Please help your student plan accordingly by eating at the tailgate, at home, or after they get out of uniform.

We are also trying to find the rightful owners of two coolers that are left over from Summer Band Camp that have not been claimed yet. If these look familiar, please have your student claim ASAP and take back home!

Volunteers Needed: Johnston Marching Invitational

The Johnston Marching Invitational (JMI) will be held at Johnston High School on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Hosting an event of this scale is a significant undertaking that requires extensive planning and dedicated support. By volunteering for the JMI, you demonstrate your pride in the Johnston High School Varsity Marching Band and our school community. We rely on the collective effort of our families to ensure a successful event, and we invite you to contribute your time and talents. Uniform Fitting Volunteer Help Needed Thursday 8/27 - Wednesday 9/2.

Our new uniforms have arrived and we are needing assistance with getting the students outfitted before our first performance! Fittings will take place during school hours in the band room.

No experience is needed and no sewing is required! If you can only make a partial shift, please note the time you are available in the comments on Sign-up Genius form. If you are avaiable for multiple shifts on the same day, please make sure to sign up on both time slots.

Please check in with the main office of the school to get a visitor badge prior to coming to the band room - so you will need your photo ID.
