The Iowa Promotion Board includes Iowa corn growers, elected by their peers, who direct funds collected through the Iowa corn checkoff program. The ICPB invests checkoff dollars in research, market development, and education about corn and corn products, to help de

fend and extend markets for Iowa corn growers. Established by a grower referendum in 1977 and continuing to add value for Iowa’s corn farmers today, the Iowa Corn checkoff has served as a model for many other states across the country. Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA)

The 8,000-member strong grassroots-driven Iowa Corn Growers Association proactively speaks for Iowa’s corn growers, lobbying and advocating on corn-related issues. ICGA stands up for corn interests, cultivates relationships, and harvests results. ICGA’s lobbying and legislative efforts are financed through membership dollars. The association and its elected board of directors from each crop reporting district work to build relationships with business and industry. ICGA provides Iowa corn growers with an effective voice in Iowa, Washington, D.C., and around the world. Dedicated to long-term Iowa corn grower profitability

The Iowa Corn Growers Association and the Iowa Corn Promotion Board each work to create opportunities for long-term Iowa corn grower profitability. For more information, including how to become a member of ICGA, visit www.iowacorn.org.

Today’s forecast: butter, salt…and CORN ON THE COB! 🌽

While only about 1% of the corn grown in Iowa is sweet corn, that 1% is what becomes the corn on the cob we love all summer long.

Whether it’s fresh off the grill, from the farmers market, or eaten standing over the sink because you couldn’t wait another second (we’ve been there!), there’s no wrong way to enjoy Iowa’s most delicious 1%.

Big thanks to Mark Mueller for hosting the Roots & Results Field Day last week in Waverly, where farmers and partners came together to dig into real-world conservation practices. 🌱💧 The focus on cover crops highlighted how on-farm trials and long-term research are helping improve soil health while protecting water quality right here in Iowa. Field events like this show what conservation looks like in practice—farmer-led, research-backed and focused on keeping Iowa’s water and land in better shape for the future.

During their visit the group toured POET, the Iowa State Feed Mill with swine nutritionists, Prestige Foods and Dave Stuthers' farm. The group also attended the International Dinner at the World Pork Expo, which was sponsored by Iowa Corn, the Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Pork Producers Council, Cultivation Corridor and the Iowa Economic Development Authority. At the dinner, attendees heard remarks from Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, Iowa Corn Promotion Board President Joe Roberts and representatives from other sponsors.
