WARNING ⚠️ “Don’t judge a book by its cover”

Consistency is the cornerstone success!

African nations have been pivotal in furthering the mission of the United Nations, consistently adhering to the principles of the UN Charter, particularly in the domains of peace and security, human rights, and humanitarian efforts. Mama Liberia 🇱🇷, as a founding member alongside Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa, must uphold her legacy and meet the expectations of good governance. Liberia's role as one of the four African states that founded the UN in 1945, and its subsequent involvement in the formation of the Organization of African Unity in 1963, underscores its longstanding commitment to these global and continental objectives.

Being from a village that fosters a robust team of Human Rights consultants who stand resilient against any form of intimidation. Therefore, My upcoming visit to Washington, DC, will be particularly fruitful as I participate in two significant events.

First, I will join the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in a powerful protest to raise a Loud Voice for the voiceless Liberian citizens who are currently enduring major Human Rights violations in Mama Liberia.

Secondly, as a member of the United States Institute of Diplomacy & Human Rights (USIDHR), I am optimistic about participating in a successful walk scheduled for September 28th, 2024. These events are crucial in continuing the fight for justice and human rights, ensuring that the voices of the oppressed are heard on the global stage.

As a relentless female activist for my priceless Mama Liberia, every threat aimed at slowing me down only fuels my resolve to press on. With every challenge, I gain strength, for I believe that change must come to free Mama Liberia from the chains of injustice and bo***ge. I will not waver, for her liberation is my mission and my calling.

I chose this dangerous path, fully aware that others once braved the same for me to have a voice. Now, it is my turn to reciprocate, speak up, stand firm, and fight for those who cannot.

A strong voice can never be silenced not even in death. It echoes through time, inspiring generations to stand firm for truth and justice.

I speak truth to power with unyielding courage, undeterred by those who seek to discredit me for challenging their government and defending human rights beyond the bounds of ethnicity. My voice remains a beacon of justice in the face of intimidation.

GJPHRAN Calls for Immediate Government Action to Support LNRCS in Assisting Flood Victims

Monrovia, Liberia – June 28th, 2024 – The Global Justice Peace & Human Rights Advocacy Network, INC. (GJPHRAN) is urgently calling on the Boakai government of Liberia to provide immediate assistance to the Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) in their efforts to support victims of recent natural disasters caused by heavy rainfalls. The flooding has left many citizens with nowhere to sleep, resulting in the loss of personal items, and has put countless lives, particularly those of children, at risk due to exposure to polluted water.

The recent flooding has had devastating effects on the health and safety of our communities. The polluted water caused by the rain poses several severe side effects, including:

Waterborne Diseases: Contaminated floodwaters can carry bacteria, viruses, and parasites, leading to serious illnesses such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid fever. These diseases are particularly dangerous for children, whose immune systems are more vulnerable.

Skin Infections: Prolonged contact with polluted water can cause skin infections and rashes, further compromising the health of affected individuals.

Respiratory Issues: Damp and moldy conditions resulting from flooding can lead to respiratory problems, including asthma and other chronic lung conditions.

Electrical Hazards: Floodwaters can cause significant electrical damages, leading to dangerous situations such as electric shocks, fires, and power outages. These hazards pose an immediate risk to the safety of residents and complicate rescue and recovery efforts.

GJPHRAN is appealing to the Boakai government to take swift and decisive action to assist the LNRCS in their critical work. Additional support is urgently needed to:

Provide Temporary Shelter: Many citizens have lost their homes and are in desperate need of safe, temporary accommodations to protect them from further exposure to the elements.

Supply Essential Goods: Victims require immediate access to clean drinking water, food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to mitigate the health risks posed by the polluted floodwaters.

Ensure Medical Assistance: Health professionals and medical supplies are crucial to treat and prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and other health issues arising from the flooding.

Address Electrical Damages: Technicians and equipment are needed to repair electrical systems and ensure the safety of flood-affected areas, reducing the risk of further electrical hazards.

The Liberia National Red Cross Society has been tirelessly working on the front lines to provide aid and support to those affected by this disaster. However, their resources are stretched thin, and additional assistance from the government is essential to effectively address this crisis.

Dr. King was a prominent and prolific writer and public speaker throughout his life. The quotations engraved at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, listed below, were thoughtfully selected to show many facets of King's thinking over the years. The quotes include excerpts from his Letter from Birmingham Jail, his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, and the "I Have a Dream Speech" delivered just a short walk away at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, among many others.
