Mom's House is a unique and comprehensive program that addresses the number one barrier preventing single parents from completing their education; that of finding affordable childcare. In addition to receiving free childcare, parents are given food and clothing donations, encouragement, love and emotional support. In exchange for our services, parents must provide three hours per week of service t

ime at Mom's House plus five hours of fundraising time per semester. To further guarantee success, parents are required to attend once-a-month workshops held at Mom's House on life skills that are necessary to grow as parents, students and career-minded individuals. Workshop topics include parenting skills, resume writing, nutrition, legal advice, financial planning, time management, health, etc. Alumni are now working in professions such as nursing, education, marketing, computer science, medical technology, etc. They have become financially independent and are now able to provide the income necessary to support their family.

Get ready for a full plate of summer favorites, including little neck clams, charcoal grilled ribeye steak sandwiches, smoked pork, lemon garlic marinated chicken breasts, hot and sweet sausage, burgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, Santa Fe quinoa salad, coleslaw, watermelon, salt potatoes, sweet corn, and soft serve ice cream.

We’re thrilled to share that Mom’s House has been awarded $10,000 through the Health Equity Innovation Award for the 2026–2027 funding year.

This support will help launch Healthy Families, Strong Futures, an initiative focused on addressing social determinants of health that impact the families we serve every day, including transportation barriers and food insecurity.

✨ What an incredible night! ✨

Thursday evening, we had the privilege of celebrating three remarkable mothers as they reached important milestones in their educational journeys.

Our graduates have balanced coursework, exams, responsibilities, and countless challenges while raising young children and building brighter futures for their families. Their resilience, perseverance, and strength inspire all of us.

We are also grateful to everyone who helped make the evening so special—our graduates' families and friends, our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, community partners, guest speakers, and supporters. A special thank you to our Penguin Class for reminding us that growth and achievement happen at every age!

At Mom's House, graduation is about more than degrees and certificates. It is about determination, opportunity, and the power of believing in yourself even when the journey is difficult. It is about creating brighter futures for both parents and children.

Memorial Day is a time of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. We are deeply thankful for the sacrifices made by service members and their families, and we hold them in our hearts today.
