This year, we're taking the Long Range Transportation Plan on the road, and we want you along for the ride! We're setting up booths at fairs and festivals across the state. We had a wonderful TNR last night in support of our fellow riders from Milligan University. Thanks to all who came out!

In addition Adam Smith came up from Asheville tell us about an initiative called “Lennies Law” which would enable special bike safety zones. They are making great progress with the municipalities around Asheville on board and just needing the NC DOT to agree. Read more about this via the link below and let us know if you support something like this here.

The Leonard Antonelli and Jacob Hill Bicycle Safety Zone Act of 2025 proposes stricter enforcement to posted speed limits on popular cycling routes.

Additional ideas on what you can do:

- if you live in Tennesse consider getting a “Share the Road” license plate. Many motorists are not aware that BY LAW they must leave 3ft of space when passing a cyclist. Getting more of those plates out there is a way to gently raise public awareness.
- also a good portion of proceeds from the plate fee go to cycling advocacy (link below)
- don’t live in Tennessee? Many other states have the same or similar laws and vanity plates
