Spring is one of the most important times to protect oak trees in Texas.

During this time of year, beetles that can spread oak wilt are most active. Avoid pruning or wounding oak trees whenever possible to help reduce the risk of spreading this deadly disease.

If pruning is necessary due to safety concerns, paint cuts immediately.

Help keep Texas oaks healthy by sharing this information with friends and neighbors.

Extra cardboard? Use it in the garden!

Sheet mulching uses leftover cardboard to stop w**ds. By blocking light, cardboard creates a w**d barrier. As it breaks down, it provides nutrients to the soil.
