Contact Ministries 211 Contact Ministries is a non-profit volunteer based telephone helpline ministry serving the counties of Carter, Greene, Unicoi and Washington, TN.

We believe that each person has the right to make decisions affecting the direction and quality of his or her life and has the responsibility to live according to these decisions. Our intent is to relate to each other and to our callers in ways which give honor to the individual and maintain personal integrity and dignity. Contact Ministries provides the following services to our community: crisis

intervention (with support from area professionals), information & referral services, and daily "reassurance" calls. Contact's helpline is staffed by local volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life. Each volunteer has completed an extensive training program that includes over twenty-seven hours of classroom work led by area professionals and an additional eight hours of "on-the-job" training in the form of a series of practicums with experienced Contact telephone workers.
