It is a ministry that has room for anyone to participate. This ministry is an interdenominational ministry that has the sole purpose of reaching out to those who NEED JESUS. We invite all denominations to participate in reaching out with the GOSPEL of JESUS! After FRIDAY NIGHT FIRE Service, we begin making hot dogs and wrapping them in foil. We then load the back of my truck with two coolers full
of hot dogs, two coolers filled with ice cold bottled water, three additional cases of water, snack bags (for the homeless), case of Bibles, condiments and all the hardware to make a presentation for the public. We set up the tables and give away Hot Dogs, Bottled Water and Bibles. HOLY GHOST gave the idea of NIGHT OWLS to freely feed the "NIGHT OWLS" (Night Life Crowd at the downtown bars of our college town, Johnson City, TN. Giving away the food and water meets multiple needs both physically and spiritually. Meeting these needs opens a gateway to freely share the GOSPEL of JESUS. The college age kids are completely taken back because a church is out to serve them and show the LOVE of JESUS rather than judge them. Opportunities to pray with people are awesome! This crowd is not only hungry for our Hot Dogs, but they hunger for a copy of the WORD. They ask us if they can have a copy of the Bible for themselves! When was the last time a college age person asked you for a copy of the Bible? It overwhelms our hearts to serve in this capacity. This ministry starts at 11:00 PM Friday Night and usually ends at 4:00 AM Saturday. These fields are white and ready for HARVEST and the laborers are few! Ask the LORD how you can be a part of something bigger than yourself that sows the WORD and also brings in a HARVEST! These needs must weekly be met in order to SOW and HARVEST: 16 packs of Hot Dogs (we use the BAR-S brand because it is a great price for the quality), 5 cases of 24 packs of water, 40 lbs of ice, approximatly 128 buns, ketchup, mustard, sweet relish, napkins, 1 case of 36 New Testaments (the crowd also likes the whole Bible as well), 1 bottle of hand sanitizer and snack bags for the homeless (the bags contain individual size puddings, crackers, and other non-perishable foods that are self contained and a plastic spoon and a few napkins with a bottled water). As we have been serving the homeless, we have discovered that there are some practical needs that need to be met like deodorant and feminine products.
