🎶 SON RAYS YOUTH CHOIR IS BACK! 🎶

Attention STBC Children–High School Ministry! 📣 We’re excited to announce that Son Rays Youth Choir is back to practicing on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM upstairs with Mrs. Becky Jenkins! ☀️🎤

We’d love for you to encourage your children and students to come join us for practice! Our youth choir is currently working on a song that they’ll be singing on a future Sunday morning at STBC! 🙌❤️

This is a great opportunity for our kids and students to use their voices to worship and serve the Lord!

STAY CLOSE TO THE CROSS

Romans 1:16 — “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…”

Paul stayed close to Christ and Him crucified in his preaching and ministry. At Calvary, the ground is level. Jew and Gentile alike need the same Savior, and the Gospel remains “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”

Paul described his Gospel ministry with language associated with priestly service. As noted by Alpha & Omega Ministries, Christian ministry does not involve making an atonement for sin as the Old Testament priesthood did (Alpha & Omega Ministries 1998). That sacrifice has already been offered. Jesus Christ came, lived, died, and arose again, making sufficient and eternal atonement for all who call upon Him by grace through faith.

Because Christ has already made the sacrifice for sin, the sacrifice now called for is our own surrendered lives. Paul pleaded with believers to present their bodies as “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.” We do not serve to purchase redemption. We serve because Christ has already redeemed us.

The Gospel must therefore be the driving force behind the Christian life. Our service, giving, ministry, and daily living should flow from what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us at the cross.

Call to Action
Stay close to the cross today. Let what Christ has done for you become the reason behind what you do for Him.

BOLDNESS MEANS PREACHING THE WORD

2 Timothy 4:2 — “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”

Paul did not avoid difficult truths. Throughout Romans, he addressed man's sinful condition, justification by grace through faith, sanctification, God's redemptive plan, and practical Christian living. Some of these truths are deep and difficult, but they are truths God's people need to know.

True boldness in preaching is not measured by volume, arrogance, harshness, or an ability to shock people. Boldness is simply proclaiming the whole counsel of God. The preacher cannot select only those portions of Scripture that agree with cultural trends or that people find comfortable.

God's Word is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.” It exposes our spiritual condition, convicts our hearts, and reveals things within us that need to change. At times Scripture will cut us, while at other times it will soothe and bandage our wounds. In every case, God uses His Word for our spiritual good.

The responsibility does not end with the preacher. God's people must come ready to receive His Word and then carry its truth into daily life. The partnership works when the pulpit faithfully proclaims Scripture and the pew faithfully receives and practices it.

Call to Action
Approach God's Word with an open heart. When Scripture comforts you, receive it. When it corrects you, receive that too, and allow its truth to shape the way you live.

🚫 There will NOT be any 8:00 AM Equip Classes.

📚 All other Equip Classes will remain on their regular schedule.
