It is with great sadness I inform you of the passing of another freedom fighter. Ms. Ann Shelton former secretary of the Johnson City / Washington County Branch lost her battle with cancer. One who stood alone sometimes in her belief for right but she stood anyway. Ann you are now in the midst of all the other great freedom fighters. Take your rest your job is done

KINGSPORT - The 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Parade will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Parade participates will need to assemble at 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of E. Sevier & Center Street (Rikki Rhoton Allstate Insurance Co.'s Parking Lot).

The parade route will follow Center Street and end on Shelby Street (City Parking Lot between Kingsport City Hall & The Justice Center). The theme is "KING’S LEGACY OF PEACE WITH A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO NONVIOLENCE 365”.
