Special Bulletin From The City Regarding Trespassing:
Please find attached the example of no trespassing signage that can be posted outside at business locations. Please note that the signage should be 18x24, red lettering on white background, and posted where it is reasonably visible. It must be posted and a form submitted to the Police Dept for the sign to be enforced. If you would like a copy of the form please post your email in the comments section here and one can be emailed to you OR you can go to the Police Department and fill one out. If you are wondering about exact placement of your sign, a Community Policing officer will come check it out after the required form is returned to the department - they’ll make sure everything is good to go.
Regarding people actually trespassing INSIDE a business:
Maj. Debbie Botelho says that if there is ever a “customer” who is not welcome back, the business owner (manager, etc.) is advised to go ahead and call Police so they have a record of it and can hopefully get a name. The merchant should also keep a “no trespassing” list with names (if possible) and dates they were told not to return. Merchants should call 911 immediately if someone on a no trespassing list comes back to the business.
