Celebrating Dedication & Service at NET Trans!

On Saturday, September 12, NET Trans recognized employees who have reached significant milestones in their years of service to the agency and the communities they serve.

This year, we celebrated employees reaching 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service. This is a remarkable reflection of their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to providing reliable transportation throughout Northeast Tennessee.

As Candace Long, Director of NET Trans, shared: “Our employees are truly the heart of what we do.” She also recognized the role their dedication plays in the program’s success: “The success of NET Trans is possible because of the dedication and commitment of our employees.”

From behind the wheel to behind the scenes, every member of the NET Trans team plays an important role in keeping our community moving. Congratulations to all of our service award recipients, and thank you for the years you have dedicated to serving our community!

NET Trans Local Roadeo Recap!

On Friday and Saturday, September 11–12, our NET Trans drivers came together for our local Roadeo. The Roadeo is a professional skills and safety competition designed to showcase the expertise, precision, and dedication of public transit operators and maintenance mechanics.

Our drivers put their skills to the test through a variety of challenges, all while keeping safety, professionalism, and excellent service at the forefront.

The Roadeo is more than a competition, it’s an opportunity for our team to learn, practice, connect, and celebrate the important work they do every day to keep our community moving.

A big thank-you to all of our NET Trans drivers for participating and for the care and commitment you bring to every ride!

Celebrating 250 Years of America & Service

FTHRA’s Foster Grandparent Program recently gathered for a special day honoring 250 years of America and the spirit of service, with a special focus on the dedicated Foster Grandparents who give their time, compassion, and experience to children and communities across Northeast Tennessee.

The program was opened by Rhonda Humbert, Director of the Foster Grandparent Program, who welcomed guests and set the tone for a meaningful celebration.

We were honored to hear from community leaders and special guests, including:

Jeff Taylor, President & CEO of the Greeneville-Greene County Partnership
State Representative David Hawk, Guest Speaker
Jason Cody, Executive Director of FTHRA
Cal Doty, Mayor of Greeneville
Kevin Morrison, Mayor of Greene County
Wendy Peay, Executive Director of United Way of Greene County

Each speaker shared remarks recognizing the importance of service and the individuals who dedicate their time to strengthening our communities.

The celebration concluded with closing remarks from Rhonda Humbert, bringing the day back to what it was all about: honoring service, celebrating community, and recognizing the Foster Grandparents who make a difference every day.

To our Foster Grandparents: thank you for your service, your time, and your heart. Your impact reaches far beyond the hours you volunteer; you are helping shape brighter futures for the next generation.

250 years of America: a legacy of service and a community that cares.
