Our community has always been built on people who quietly show up and care for others, and Tony is one of those people. Every Tuesday and Thursday, he faithfully volunteers his time cooking meals for the students in the after-school program at The Bridge, serving our kids with consistency, kindness, and love.
Recently, Tony and his family experienced an unimaginable loss with the passing of his sister. In the midst of grieving, Tony and his wife, Debby, have stepped in and have now taken full custody of his nephew, Jareth, who is also navigating the heartbreaking loss of his mother.
Jareth is a regular part of our after-school program family at The Bridge. Since coming to live with Tony and Debby, he has shown incredible growth and perseverance, improving his grades from failing to achieving High Honor Roll. This year, he was also recognized as Student of the Year for his hard work, determination, and progress. While Tony and Deb have already been caring for Jareth, they have now officially received full custody as they continue to provide him with stability, support, and a loving home during such a difficult time.
As Tony and Deb take on the responsibility of providing care and stability for Jareth, while also grieving themselves, the financial burden of funeral expenses and unexpected life changes has become overwhelming. A GoFundMe has been created to help support them during this time.
If you have ever been impacted by the kindness, generosity, and servant hearts that Tony, Debby, and Jareth have shown to this community, we ask that you consider donating, sharing, or keeping their family in your prayers. Every contribution, no matter the amount, can help lighten the load and remind them they are not walking through this alone.
Thank you for continuing to be a community that shows up for one another in difficult moments.
