Dear Fellow Community Members,

Today comes with a saddened heart that we are announcing the cancelation of Walla-Pa-Looza 6 on Saturday, July 26, 2014, as well as the dissolution of the Walla-Pa-Looza Organization of Illinois.

There comes a time when everyone must move forward to raise families and pursue other activities. The same goes for volunteers of an organization such as Walla-Pa-Looza. Our Board of Directors were torn over the decision, but collectively felt that it was the proper decision.

With the support of each and every one of you, our volunteers, sponsors, donors, vendors and bands, we had a fantastic five year run with over 10 very successful events. Most importantly, with the help of everyone listed above, we were able to raise funds and donate them to families in the community who have been touched by cancer.

We would also like to mention that a part of Walla-Pa-Looza will live on in the form of the John Smidl Memorial Scholarship, which is being shifted over to the Johnsburg Lions Club. Additionally, we would like to thank the Gavers Community Cancer Organization for assisting us with the final applications for persons in need.

We hope you can understand our decision, as it was a tough one for our Board of Directors to make.

Sincerely,

Craig Wallace, Sheryl Smith, Nick Bionda, Lori Mazrin, Joanne Wallace

Walla-Pa-Looza Board of Directors
