🌀 Hurricane season is here. Preparation starts before the storm arrives. 🌧️

At SCDOT, our teams are preparing by staging equipment, reviewing response plans, and making sure resources are ready to help keep South Carolina’s roads safe and accessible.

Take time now to make a plan, gather emergency supplies, know your evacuation routes, and stay informed before severe weather threatens.

During and after a storm, remember to use caution on the roads, never drive through flooded areas, and give our crews space to safely clear debris and make repairs.

Prepare today. Stay safe tomorrow. Download the guide: https://scemd.org/stay-informed/publications/hurricane-guide/

With all the rain we’ve had recently, remember to dump or refresh any standing water around your property every other day.

Mosquitoes only need a puddle the size of a bottle cap to breed. A quick check today can help keep your neighborhood safe!

Water can collect in toys, buckets, and even boat or car covers. If you see it, dump it!

New venue. Bigger space. More neighbors served. We moved to North Charleston to meet the community where the need is greatest.

Free Dental Day provides no-cost dental exams, fillings, extractions, and hygiene services to adults who cannot afford care — because no one should live in pain because they cannot afford treatment.

Dental care is one of the most commonly skipped health services in South Carolina, not because people don't want it, but because they simply cannot afford it. Free Dental Day exists to close that gap for one weekend each year, bringing together volunteer dental professionals, community partners, and sponsors to deliver life-changing care at no cost.
