Johns Island Council Johns Island Council is a citizens' group that meets monthly to discuss issues that are important to residents of Johns and Wadmalaw Islands.

Johns Island Council is a citizens group of Johns Island and Wadmalaw Island residents that meet monthly, first Thursday 7PM at Berkeley Electric building 1135 Main Road. We discuss events and issues on Johns Island related to our community.

The next JOHNS ISLAND COUNCIL is our annual meeting where we look back over the past year at our accomplishments and handle our internal business operation including Board of Directors’ election. This is a meeting for our council members only. This meeting is June 11.
We will share the meeting results at our next meeting, and we have some very exciting meetings planned in the next few months. Our next OPEN to the community meeting on JULY 9th our guest speaker will be James Teeple and SCDOT representatives providing the detailed results of the statewide SCDOT Modernization efforts. In AUGUST we are looking to have a few JOHNS ISLAND Project updates potentially including; Jubilee Hotel, Orange Hill Golf Course, Maybank Landing, Trident Emergency Center, Recreation Center and Low Tide Brewery. SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER will be candidate forums for the November Election. And don’t forget, our DECEMBER meeting is always our COLLABORATION COUNCIL meeting with the mayors, county and city elected council members.

We sincerely thank all of the candidates who attended, as well as those who were unable to attend. We are also deeply appreciative of everyone who helped coordinate and support the evening to make this event possible.

The forum included candidates for:

β€’ State House Districts 115, 116 & 119
β€’ Probate Judge
β€’ Register of Deeds

We are grateful to everyone currently serving and to all those willing to step forward and run for these important positions. Every candidate brought thoughtful responses to the questions presented, and we were honored to have each of you participate in this community forum.
