This is Troop 629 Summer Camp week! (And a reminder that
There is no Troop meeting on June 15th).

Summer Camp Reminders!

Scouts attending Summer Camp should be dropped off at Woodruff Scout Camp between 11:00 am - 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 14th.

All Scouts should arrive in their full Class A uniform with red class B underneath your tan scout shirt.

Either eat lunch before you arrive or bring a bagged lunch to eat when you arrive at Woodruff.

All Scouts need to pack their swim trunks, towel, sunscreen and a filled water bottle in their day pack. Do Not pack these items in your footlocker. These items are needed for the swim test and camp orientation.

Troop 629 appreciates Mr. Jon Benton who is again leading summer camp. Other adult leaders who will be assisting include Scoutmaster Randy Jackson, Mr. Todd Evans and Mr. Brent Myhand. We also have two Troop 629 Eagle Scouts who are registered adults and will assist at summer camp: Mr. Mason Myhand and Mr. Drew Jackson.

Thank you to all these adult leaders for volunteering their time to guide our scouts next week!

A reminder that our Troop 629 meeting this coming Monday (6-8-26) will be held at EAST ROSWELL PARK. Our activity will be a round of Frisbee Golf!

Fun Troop 629 meeting tonight with a scout educating the troop on Outdoor Ethics - and a troop hike along the Chattahoochee where those principles were put into practice.

Troop 629 families -

The Monday, May 18th, Troop Meeting will NOT be held at Prince of Peace Church.

Our May 18th meeting will be at the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center located at 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek.

All Scouts should bring filled water bottles as we will be hiking along the Chattahoochee. Please arrive in your Class A uniform no later than our regular 7:15 start time.

Fun and informative Troop 629 meeting tonight. A good scout-prepared presentation on the important 3-tub wash process to keep our cookware clean - and the germs and microbes at bay! The troop then had a fun time practicing that method with a dish washing race. Great work by our senior scouts making learning new skills fun.

Excellent scout-planned program at last night's Troop 629 meeting. This meeting included a review of the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge, a fun activity for all scouts to engage in how our government works, and having our State Representative Scott Hilton address the group. These scouts had lots of good questions for Mr. Hilton. A fun and informative night!

Our troop Meeting on Monday, March 30th, will be dedicated to completing our Service Project for our sponsor, Prince of Peace Church. The Troop will finish spreading mulch in the playground and dis-assembling chairs for recycling. For Monday's meeting, Class A uniforms are not required. Please come to the meeting in a Class B (red, Trooop 629) t-shirt. Also, bring work gloves if you have them.

A couple of DEADLINES for Monday night:

Cherokee Rock Village, April 17-19

Our April Outing will be outdoor rock climbing and two nights of camping at Cherokee Rock Village. Venture into the verticle world of climbing with BSA certified instructors. Permission slips and payment are DUE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MARCH 30th Troop meeting.

Summer Camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation, June 14-20, 2026

The deadline for current Scouts (NOT new cross-over Scouts) to register for Summer Camp DUE MONDAY, MARCH 30th. Your registration forms must include your Merit Badge Selections. Any Scout registering after this deadline will be registered for Merit Badges based on availability, which will likely not be you first choices. Don't miss this deadline! (Note that the registration deadline for new/cross-over Scouts is Monday, May 11th).
