JGA Wrapped 💫 | 2025 in the field
From Jesup, Statesboro, Brunswick, to Savannah, this year was about showing up—listening, learning, and moving with our communities. We were on the ground doing fieldwork, gathering real-time data, and offering tools of intervention against state-sanctioned violence and harm across the Southeast. Here is a snapshot of some of the work we did!
🍕 Slices of Love Pizza Party — as students headed back to school, we partnered with the Mediation Center a space rooted in care and joy while conducting live-action polling and research on what helps kids feel safe at school and in their communities.
🗣️ Savannah — we gathered live data from young people about what safety looks like in their neighborhoods and also partnered with the DEEP Center in a community lead barbershop, talk about what is working and what resources they believe are missing or needed to thrive.
🏛️ Statesboro — we hosted a community town hall and officially launched our Community Needs Assessment where residents and local stakeholders were able to speak openly about their lived experiences. This moment marked an important step toward data that is community-led, people-powered, and rooted in lived truth.
🏀 Ball 4 Noah Basketball Tournament — a day filled with love, movement, and remembrance as we honored Noah by playing his favorite sport. Grateful for our partners The Mediation Center and Kate’s Club for showing up with additional resources.
The rest of these moments capture our field visits across Statesboro, Brunswick, and Savannah—each stop a reminder that data + community care = power.
Thank you to every young person, family, partner, and organizer who made this year possible. We’re excited to continue this work in 2026! ✊🏾❤️
