Artists across Jersey City are creating powerful work in every neighborhood. But access to resources hasn’t always been equal.

In the latest Letter to the City, Deonté reflects on conversations with artists across our communities, JC Fridays in Greenville and Bergen-Lafayette, and why equity must be central to how we support artists.

“Equity in the arts isn’t just about fairness, it’s about sustainability.”

JCAC has also made important modifications to the Individual Artist Fellowship (IAF) to make the application process more accessible and equitable for artists across disciplines.

🗓 Applications are open now — deadline March 23.
