Jersey City Cat Rescue Help Jersey City Cat Rescue so that we can help cats left to die in the streets. Support what we do by visiting the Web Site to donate.

Founded by Anthony Olszewski, Jersey City Cat Rescue helps cats left to die in the streets. We need your help so that we can continue this work. Even a bag of kitty litter (non-clumping) will make a BIG difference. If you can do more, purchase from the Amazon Wish List or donate at our Web Site.

Bart has been living inside for quite a few years. The building recently was sold and so Bart had to move. Since I can't handle him, the poor guy had to be trapped. Bart was terrified and hid for two days. He was eating during the night. Yesterday, he began to calm down.

Donating any car, SUV, truck, motorcycle, or boat to Metro Cat Rescue helps us help kittens and cats in need -- AND can mean a BIG TAX DEDUCTION for you! Metro Cat Rescue still needs a van or large SUV for our own use.

Donations of tools, game consoles, action figures, silver coins, and other nice things that we can sell on eBay are great, too.

Bart showed up a few weeks ago. He sat down outside, staring at the door, quite obviously asking for help. He got a good meal and has been back every day since. This morning, the poor guy stretched out in the shadow of my work cart, trying to get a little shade. The next project will be to put together a little shelter for Bart. That way, he'll have a place to escape both the rain and the sun. I hope that by the time autumn turns cold, Bart will trust me enough to move inside.

A series of vet bills basically used all of the little money that we had on hand. Not able to do sidewalk sales fundraisers during the lockdown, the money situation is dire. Not able to pay for someone to help with the chores, I have to do everything myself, often not finishing until after 2AM. With the high winter heating bills past due, the money situation is a severe concern.

Please email questions to [email protected] instead of posting inquiries as comments.

Annabelle is a Metro Cat Rescue superstar. She was born in a cared for colony of outdoor cats living in an inner city lot. Metro Cat Rescue took in Annabelle along with her brother and mom, Sweetie. The two babies live in a wonderful home. Sweetie is a house cat now, too. Metro Cat Rescue continues to care for her.

Many hours are spent each day feeding, washing bowls, providing worm medicine and laundering the cats' beds. So that Metro Cat Rescue can do more, we need your help! We've run out of space to take in any additional cats. And there's the time -- with the kittens and moms that we have here now, the day starts at 6am and ends at 11pm.

Last winter, trying to fit more hours in the day by adding extra effort, I quite literally collapsed from exhaustion. For three days after that, I could only be up for 15 minutes or so and then had to lie down to recover some strength.

Metro Cat Rescue needs a bigger and better space. We also need the funds to hire someone -- at least -- part time to help with the chores. Hours are spent cleaning bowls and dishes. Having an automatic dishwasher would make a world of difference. A lot less time would go towards drudgery that then could be used caring for the cats.

Metro Cat Rescue has no cushion of dedicated funds for medical care. As it stands now, for each and every vet visit -- standard checkups and neutering, too, not just emergencies -- has to be paid for by pleading for help on Facebook. This sometimes means that a sick cat suffers for days waiting for medical attention.

Metro Cat Rescue receives no grants or taxpayer dollars. To help kittens and cats in need, we rely on community support. So that Metro Cat Rescue can continue this mission and do more, we need your help. It's quick and convenient and safe to use this Link to the Metro Cat Rescue GoFundMe Page:

Metro Cat Rescue is in DIRE need of support! EVERY day we get requests that we don't have the resources to assist with. This means that kittens are born in the street because no one helps us to help them. PLEASE DONATE!

Take a look at the Photos here on the Metro Cat Rescue page and you'll see just some of the many cats that we've helped.

The dream of Metro Cat Rescue is to establish a facility to provide care for homeless kittens and cats with easily treated but contagious conditions -- those innocents that now elsewhere regularly are made to die. Sadly, a lack of funds has kept Metro Cat Rescue's goal on a distant horizon.

Without the necessary resources, each day there are poor moms and babies that we can't help. Indeed, last summer, there was a dip in donations and adoptions. I would not let the cats go hungry, so I scraped by eating little more than bread, rice and beans myself.

Metro Cat Rescue needs your help! We are DROWNING in bills for food, medical costs and supplies. Click on the Link to DONATE. If everyone reading this gave SOMETHING, we’d be well on the way to providing for homeless cats that now need to fend for themselves. THANK YOU!

Giving any amount will be a huge help. Unfortunately, right now we have no idea what our funding will be next month — or even next week. Helping to make it possible for Metro Cat Rescue to plan for the future will mean so many more kittens and cats will be saved.

Please do support Metro Cat Rescue! All too often I've had to spend my own grocery money to make sure that the cats were well fed. If Metro Cat Rescue had better facilities and a used SUV or van for transportation, there's so much more that we could do.

Some time after this picture was taken, Smudge became sick and stopped eating. Thankfully, he was somewhat socialized and didn't hide. A Metro Cat Rescue volunteer was able to place a clothes hamper over him. An old plastic political sign was then slid underneath. I then carried him to a warm place. That was Sunday. Smudge still wouldn't eat.

Monday morning we were able to get Smudge to the vet. He spent some days there on an IV. When brought back, Smudge had to stay inside to recover. He's lived with a number of others at Metro Cat Rescue ever since. Smudge is the special friend of two little girl cats.
