In the sacred spirit of remembrance, resistance, and restoration, the D.C. Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), in proud collaboration with the National ABPsi, invites you to the 6th Annual Sherehe ya Kwanzaa—a spiritual gathering and cultural celebration rooted in Black liberation and ancestral wisdom.
December 26, 2025 @ 1:00 - 3:00 PM,EST via Zoom
Guided by the principles of Nguzo Saba, this Kwanzaa celebration is more than a seasonal observance; it is a ritual of reconnection—to community, to culture, and to the divine essence within us all. With the resonance of African drumming, the lighting of the kinara, and sacred rituals grounded in Yoruba and Ifá traditions, we open a spiritual portal to honor those who came before and plant seeds of power for those yet to come.
This year’s sherehe (celebration) calls upon the cowry shell—a symbol of divine protection, feminine power, and ancestral communication—to envelop our gathering in spiritual safety and cultural clarity. Through word, rhythm, and ritual, we invoke a collective healing aligned with the Black psychological liberation movement, illuminating pathways to well-being grounded in African-centered wisdom.
Join us as we share:
• Reflections from National and DC ABPsi Leadership
• A transformative Presidential Address
• Updates on the Annual Convention
• Cultural performances and community reconnection
• Ancestral guidance woven into every word and drumbeat
We invite all seekers of healing, knowledge, and community to stand with us in this spiritual circle—where resistance meets renewal, and where the wisdom of our ancestors walks with us into the new year.
🕯️ Let us remember. Let us rise. Let us rejoice.
