If you’re a veteran swapper, you know that each swap is a little different, so here’s what to know about the McGinley swap.
* It’s open to the public, located on the street outside Crema (1 Duncan Ave) - so there is no ticket purchase required and no RSVP required. Just come by when you can!
* The exchange is pretty loose - it’s not ‘give an item to take an item’ or a fee for taking things. Everything is “give what you can, take what you need”.
* We ask that you only take what you need and will truly use, and that you only give items only if they are truly able to be used by someone else.
* Bring your items (clothing or appliances) in clean condition please! Unwashed items are unsanitary for the volunteers to handle, and it’s nicer for the person who is searching for items to receive something that is clean. Of course, we recommend if you take something that you also wash it when you get home, but what you do is up to you 🙂
* We always end up with leftover items, and we donate those to a local charity. We’re excited this year to partner with who will make the items available for either the local students OR other local charities in need. If you have items for donation but can’t make the swap, check out their instagram page for how you can donate another day.
* We are not able to pick up items from you, or take items before the swap- sorry!
If you aren’t able to make it to the swap, check out for another way to donate, or follow along on our page because we try to share information on other swaps happening in Jersey City.
A few pages that we also follow for info on local swaps, recycling opportunities, up cycled purchases/donations are more that you can also check out are:
