Meet Sarayu (class VII)

In her words, "“I think Ann Foundation English Class is very useful for
students like me. The class is interesting and full of
activities like role play and group discussion. Our
teacher encourages us to speak in English without fear.
Now I feel more confident while speaking.
We also practice conversations from daily life, which
helps me a lot. The teacher is very friendly and corrects
our mistakes in a kind way. I am not shy anymore when
I speak in English. This class has really improved my
speaking and listening skills.”

🌍📚 ANN FOUNDATION TEAM | Contributing to MDG2: Achieve Universal Primary Education

For 26 years, Ann Foundation has worked to educate and empower economically and socially marginalized children and youth with disabilities.

Online volunteers from across the globe have developed and taught daily online classes in various languages to children with visual or hearing disabilities across eight cities in India. Through partnerships with local organizations and agencies in India, Ukraine, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Egypt, our volunteer-driven organization continues to expand access to education and opportunity.

With the support of hundreds of online volunteers who have collaborated with Ann Foundation over the years, we have empowered thousands of children through the power of education. 💙

Meet Ranjitha, a 10th-grade student whose hard work and determination are inspiring! 📚✨

Ranjitha shared that learning through English videos followed by Tamil translation exercises has greatly improved her English comprehension. Thanks to her tutor's engaging teaching methods, she has also excelled in her exams! 🎉

Her dream? To become a doctor. 👩‍⚕️💙

Every volunteer has a story. Here’s a meaningful reflection from one of our Project Assistants, Geeta, at Ann Foundation.

"As a Project Assistant volunteer, I have had the exclusive privilege of working with the finest leader, coordinators and tutors whose earnest dedication and enthusiasm contributes to the students' academic accomplishment.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer as a Project Assistant for Ann Foundation and the experience has been nothing but remarkable, enriching and rewarding. Ann is a wonderful person to work with and a true leader in every sense. Her vision for the Foundation, communication and decision making skills are highly valued and commendable. In the two years as a PA at Ann Foundation, the learning experience has been tremendous since I have not had exposure to this kind of work and role earlier. The dedication, drive and commitment of the Foundation to serve the underprivileged children is inspiring to say the least.

We're working to expand our English program to reach every student in the IELC School - from 1st through 8th grade classes!

💙 Our volunteers are helping students with visual disabilities build confidence in speaking English through fun, interactive lessons that make learning enjoyable. Seeing students grow more confident with every class is what inspires us most.
