Fox Chase Cancer Center and Briar Bush Nature Center team up to talk about the impact of Ozone Layer depletion and UV rays on our natural world. Join us for a discussion with Yash Chhabra and Kyrstin Schwarz on May 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall.

Yash Chhabra is an Assistant Professor, Fox Chase Cancer Center. Yash completed his PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of Queensland, Australia.

Kyrstin Schwarz joined Briar Bush's staff in 2023 and has become a valued and dedicated part of the Environmental Education team. Kyrstin has a bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management with a minor in Education.

UPDATE from the Commonwealth Drought Task Force ⁠💧

· A drought watch has been lifted for 22 counties.
· Berks, Lancaster, and Lehigh have drought status improved from Warning to Watch.

Conditions have improved across western Pennsylvania, but there is still significant recovery needed in many areas of PA, and why Watch and Warning Declarations continue in many counties.

Water suppliers or municipalities may continue to ask residents for conservation actions. Residents should always follow any notifications provided by their local water supplier.

Jenkintown PA Bird Town at the Jenkintown School Sustainability Fair today. Students leaned about what birds require in our backyards. Thanks for stopping by our table and thank you, JSD, for inviting us to this event.
