ADVOCACY & INFORMATION
Through this program the Federation consults and briefs elected officials at local, state and federal levels on the concerns of the community and on issues relating to Ukraine. We initiate forums, conferences and meetings on social and educational topics. Members of the program meet regularly with diplomats from Ukraine for an exchange of information and cooperative work. We
also network with non-Ukrainian organizations and institutions on issues of mutual concern and through this interaction promote a positive image of the community and Ukraine. ARTS & CULTURE
The Federation is dedicated to fostering and promoting cultural exchanges between Ukrainians and the global community by sponsoring a variety of events to showcase Ukrainian arts. We organize exhibits, book presentations, and literary programs. We are a long-time partner with the internationally acclaimed Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. EDUCATION
The Federation sponsors licensed translations of textbooks and key publications into Ukrainian and distributes these books to schools, libraries and other institutions of learning in Ukraine. This program organizes book exhibits, meetings with writers and poets and supports various related projects. HEALTH CARE
The Ukrainian Federation of America develops and implements health care programs in Ukraine for children and adolescents, with particular emphasis on Family and Preventative Medicine. A special focus is the development of Family Practice Clinics and Rural Practice Clinics in Ukraine. The program also facilitates specialized medical treatment for Ukrainian children, as well as advanced training for Ukrainian physicians and medical students. The Nasha Rodyna Project of the Federation provides help to children with MS in Ukraine and sponsors a summer camp in the Carpathian Mountains for these children. HUMANITARIAN AID
This Program initiates and partners in many charitable projects with other Ukrainian and international organizations to send medical and educational supplies to Ukraine. Its Kobzar Technology Project salvages and refurbishes used computers, installs Ukrainian-language operating systems and sends them to schools, orphanages, libraries, and other institutions throughout Ukraine. SOCIAL SERVICES
The Social Service Program of the Ukrainian Federation of America is dedicated to providing services to the Ukrainian community, and particularly to senior citizens and new immigrants. Those services include visits to home-bound elderly, visits to doctor offices, or shopping. Our volunteers also provide information, translation and referral services to help new immigrants in becoming self-sufficient and better-integrated members of the community. We sponsor seminars to provide information on health, financial planning and other relevant topics to seniors and the community.
