As a third-generation Cymivka, Zoryana Hellenga has grown up in CYM. Her journey with CYM Philadelphia began at just two years old as a huseniatka, and since then she has been actively involved in countless activities. From supporting Ukrainian children through Teplom Zihriyemo Sertsia and participating in rallies, to volunteering at Oselia CYM Karpaty, attending tabory, and taking part in every Zlet since age five, CYM has always been a big part of her life. Most recently, during Zahalni Zbory, Zoryana was promoted to Druzhynnyky and received her blue tie, marking an important milestone in her CYM journey.

Zoryana proudly continues a strong family tradition of service to CYM. Her Baba, Vlodia Zalusky, helped revive and lead CYM Binghamton, NY, while her mother, Nadia Hellenga, has served in various leadership roles within CYM Philadelphia since 2010, including seven years as Bulavna. Alongside Zoryana, her brother, Aidan Hellenga, is also an active member of the yunatstvo.

During the closing of the CYM season, we had the honor of welcoming Nick Conway into the ranks of the Druzhynnyky. Nick received his blue tie and pledged to remain faithful to God and Ukraine while continuing his journey as an active member of CYM. This milestone is especially meaningful as he follows in the footsteps of generations of family members who have dedicated themselves to CYM Philadelphia, including his grandfather, Yurij Fedorijchuk, a former President of the branch; his grandmother, pani Jola; and his mother, Chrystya, and older sister, Natalie, all of whom have contributed through leadership, dance, sports, volunteerism, and service to our community. His younger sister Julia is still a yunachka. Congratulations, Nick, on this important achievement!

Photos from our annual formal zakryttya (closing ceremony) to celebrate our Yunatstvo and their accomplishments. It was a beautiful way to honor their hard work, put a spotlight on individuals who represented CYM in the community, and close out the year together.

Thank you to every parent, grandparent, uprava member, vykhovnyk, vporyadnyk, and volunteer who made this year possible. We are proud of what we've built together and excited for what's ahead.

We are proud to have taken part in this important commemoration of Святого Героїв (Ukrainian Heroes’ Day).

Every May, Ukrainians around the world honor the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom, independence, and dignity of Ukraine. On May 31, 2026, the Society of UPA-USA hosted a Memorial Concert at the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center, bringing our community together to remember and pay tribute to Ukraine’s heroes—past and present.

Their sacrifice inspires us to remain steadfast in our faith, our heritage, and our commitment to a free Ukraine. Вічная пам’ять to all who gave their lives for Ukraine.

Some friendships are built one memory at a time and this weekend, Julia Conway built the perfect Deb-posal.

On a rainy weekend filled with unforgettable moments, Julia from CY7M Philadelphia asked Tristan Wolf from UAYA Goshen.Kerhonkson - CYM Ґошен.Кергонксон to be her es**rt to Deb 2027 with the cutest message: “Let’s make more memories… LEGO to Deb?” ❤️

It honors those who, in the past and today, gave their lives for the independence, freedom, and dignity of the Ukrainian people. Their courage and devotion live on in our hearts and stand as a beacon for future generations.
