THIS FRIDAY: AUDITION for Metropolitan’s Boys’ Scholarship Program❗️

For nearly three decades, Metropolitan’s Boys’ Program has opened the door to opportunity: one class, one performance, and one dancer at a time. The program invites boys ages 7-17 to audition for a year of tuition-free classical training, performance opportunities, and the chance to become part of the young men discovering what they can do through movement and community.

▫️Audition for the 2026-2027 Season
▫️Friday, September 18 at 4:30pm
▫️No previous dance experience is necessary. Beginners should arrive ready to participate in a welcoming introductory class. Gym clothes and socks are all that are needed, although dance attire and shoes are welcome. For experienced dancers, additional classes will be held at 5:30 and/or 6:30pm. Call for more details.

Leading this training is an exceptional faculty of professional dancers and educators, including Daniel Mayo, Vitaly Verterich, and Da’ Von Doane. Together, they create an environment where boys can challenge themselves and discover the discipline and joy that come with serious training.

Last week, our company and academy dancers had the opportunity to work with the amazing Jennifer Sommers’ on her story ballet, The Little Engine That Could 🚂

A very special thank you to Ms. Sommers for sharing this beautiful work with us and for the care and generosity she brought to the process. We love her dearly and are so grateful for the way she has worked so thoughtfully with our dancers over the years.

Watching this wonderful group come together has already been such a joy, and we can’t wait to see all of their hard work bring this charming story to life onstage!
We are so excited to continue rehearsing and growing together, and most of all, to share The Little Engine That Could with our entire Metropolitan Ballet community this November at our Family Concert Series!✨
