The Chilton Baptist Association family is grieving the loss of Carolyn Joy Copeland, known to so many of us as Mrs. Joy. She went home on October 28.

Mrs. Joy was one of the first volunteers to help start GriefShare at the association. She spent her career as a counselor and administrator in mental health, and she gave that same gift of listening to people walking through the hardest seasons of their lives. Because of her, GriefShare became a place where hurting people could find comfort and hope.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV)

Please pray for her mother, Clara, her brother, Charles, and all who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 7, at Clanton First Baptist Church, 210 6th Street North. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 1:30 PM, and the service begins at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that gifts be made to the GriefShare ministry of the Chilton Baptist Association: https://chiltonbaptist.online/give/ (please note “GriefShare in memory of Joy Copeland”).

Join us in united prayer this November.
Every day, Pray 4 Chilton offers a short prayer focus for our county, our churches, and the nations. Here is the path we will walk together:
Nov 1-7: the persecuted church, beginning with the Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Nov 8-14: orphans, widows, and neighbors in need
Nov 15-21: our pastors, our churches, and the Alabama Baptist State Convention
Nov 22-28: a week of thanksgiving for all God has done
Nov 29-30: Advent and the Week of Prayer for International Missions
Choose a time to pray each day, as little as 15 minutes, and we’ll send you that day’s prayer focus. Sign up at pray.chiltonbaptist.online
