Ready to meet another incredible 2026 Dreamstarter? ✨

Meet this week's 2026 Dreamstarter Spotlight: Harleigh Moore-Wilson (Osage Nation) ✨

What if a garden could help preserve culture, strengthen community health, and reconnect people to traditional knowledge? 🌿

That's the vision behind Harleigh's “Osage Tea Garden."

Through her project, Harleigh will create a greenhouse and community garden where youth and community members can learn to grow, harvest, and prepare traditional Osage tea and medicinal plants while reconnecting with their culture and land.

As Harleigh says:
"Food sovereignty is about reclaiming our right to decide what we grow, how we grow it, and how we share it—guided by our cultural values rather than outside systems." 💚

We're excited to see the impact the WahZhaZhe Tea Garden will have for future generations of the Osage Nation.

Flower Hill Institute is excited to announce the opening of the FY2026 National Bison Production and Marketing Grant Program. FHI received the funding through the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Bison Production and Marketing Grant Program.

Up to $150,000 per award is available to support projects focused on:

✔️ Business planning & management

✔️ Value-added bison product development

✔️ Processing knowledge & training

✔️ Education opportunities for producers and processors

A total of approximately $880,000 will be distributed through competitive subawards to eligible entities across the United States.

📅 Important Dates:

• Full Applications Due: August 10, 2026

• Award Notification Period Begin: September 21, 2026

The 87th American Convention of Meat Processors & Suppliers' Exhibition takes place in Milwaukee, WI. It will feature a jam-packed lineup of educational sessions, product demonstrations, humane handling lessons, and family-friendly social events. Our largest-ever trade show has expanded hours, and the 2026 American Cured Meats Championships will bring some of the best cured meat products in the country into one room.
