📣 New Class Descriptions Released!
We’re excited to share the new class descriptions for the Georgia Draft Horse Association Draft Horse Show at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA – happening October 9–11, 2026! 🐴✨
These additions bring even more opportunity for exhibitors and horses to showcase their talent, training, and versatility in the arena.
🔹 Class #67 – Open Liberty
Watch horses perform freely to music for 1½ minutes, showing off their natural movement, personality, and presence. Horses must demonstrate varied gaits, use the arena well, and finish with a smooth catch by the handler.
🔹 Class #72 – Open Hunter Under Saddle
Horse and rider will present the classic hunt-field picture, emphasizing smooth, ground-covering gaits, balance, and a well-mannered, obedient horse shown at the walk, trot, and canter in proper hunt attire.
🔹 Class #78 – Open Dressage Suitability Under Saddle
Designed to highlight a horse’s potential for the dressage arena, this class focuses on fluidity, elasticity of movement, correct balance, straightness, and smooth transitions at the walk, trot, and canter.
These new classes will highlight athleticism, versatility, and partnership between horse and handler/rider. We can’t wait to see these incredible draft horses shine in the ring! 🌟
