A Message from the Founder: Ms. Sharon H. Smith

💗 October | Breast Cancer Awareness Month
For more than 10 years, fear kept me from getting another mammogram.

Not because something was wrong. Not because I had received a bad diagnosis. I was simply afraid.

Years ago, after a routine mammogram, I was asked to stay for an ultrasound so they could take a closer look at a lymph node. Thankfully, everything was fine. But the experience frightened me, and when I was told they would continue to watch the area, I allowed that fear to keep me from going back.

More than 10 years passed; nothing happened that caused me to return. What changed was my thinking.

One day, I thought about the people who I love, and whom is very dear to my heart, and something shifted in me.

I remembered words spoken to me by someone very special, and I asked myself:

What would hurt more, the temporary discomfort and fear of getting a mammogram, or someday having to say, “I regret not going”?

That was enough for me. I scheduled my mammogram.

Ladies, sometimes it isn’t the examination we fear; and It’s the unknown.

But what if everything is fine and fear has kept you from having peace of mind? And what if something does need attention, and finding it earlier gives you the opportunity to address it sooner?

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to encourage you to take care of YOU. Know what is normal for your breasts, pay attention to changes, and talk with your healthcare provider about when mammography screening is appropriate for you.

Don’t allow fear to make a decision today that could leave you saying, “If only I had.” tomorrow.

Fear may make you hesitate, but love yourself enough to still get checked. 💗

A message from the YWY Founder: Ms. Sharon H. Smith

MY HEART IS STILL FULL...

Saturday night’s Expressions of the Soul: An Elegant Paint & Sip was nothing short of AMAZING! To hear the ladies say how much they loved the experience and ask, “When are we doing this again?” truly blessed my heart. ❤️

But what touched me most was watching women laugh, connect, exhale, pour back into themselves, and experience what YWY was created to provide. I even learned something about myself through my own painting.

In moments like this, I am reminded of just how blessed I am that God chose me to lead You Within Yourself. I don't take this assignment lightly, and I certainly don't do it alone.

To my YWY Team, YOU ALL SHOWED OUT! ❤️

The unity, love, excellence, and teamwork I witnessed last night was unmatched. You made every woman who walked through those doors feel seen, celebrated, and like the beautiful Queen she is.

Jammarrius, our COO, thank you for seeing the vision beyond just the event and helping me bring it all together. You created an experience not only for our guests, but for me and the other ladies of YWY as well. You are one special young man, and I cannot express enough how much you are appreciated by me and this entire organization. ❤️

Nicole, Desmarie, and Samantha, Ms. Sharon loves you ladies dearly! Watching you step in, take charge, work together, and handle the setup while allowing Jammarrius and me to focus on the finishing touches made me smile then, and I'm still smiling now! That's what a dynamic team looks like.

And above all, God, THANK YOU. 🙏🏽

Thank You for the vision. Thank You for the women. Thank You for the impact; and Thank You for surrounding me with a team that understands the assignment.

Expressions of the Soul wasn't simply an event. It was an EXPERIENCE. 💜

And from what these ladies are telling us, YWY, we may just have to do it again! 😊🎨🥂

Women, when was the last time you poured back into YOU? 💜

We spend so much time being everything to everyone else that sometimes we forget the woman in the mirror needs care, too.

Self-care isn’t selfish. Sometimes it’s "resting without guilt, protecting your peace, setting boundaries, praying, moving your body, nourishing yourself, or simply giving yourself permission to breathe.

Your health matters.
Your peace matters.
Your emotional well-being matters.
"YOU matter.

You don’t have to wait until you’re exhausted to start taking care of yourself.

At "You Within Yourself", we believe wholeness includes caring for the mind, body, and spirit. Because when a woman begins healing from within, she moves beyond simply surviving and begins THRIVING. 💜

We are excited, blessed, and incredibly thankful for what God is doing in this season!

You may see events, you may see community impac; but we see motivation, transformation, and most importantly, ELEVATION.'

In less than 6 days, we’re coming together for "Expressions of the Soul:" An Elegant Paint & Sip, an experience created for the woman who has spent so much time showing up for everyone else and is ready to show up for HERSELF.

✨ SUNDAY EMPOWERMENT

Sometimes God will allow a season where what’s happening "within you" becomes more important than what’s happening around you.

You may not understand the journey, but trust this, God is not only preparing the blessing for you, He is preparing YOU for the blessing.

So today, don’t measure your progress only by what you’ve accomplished. Look at the woman you are becoming. The wisdom you’ve gained, the boundaries you’ve learned to set, the peace you protect, and the confidence growing from within.

When a woman knows her worth, she no longer has to convince the world of her value. She knows it, walks in it, and lives from it. Remembe, "Your greatest transformation begins within."

Have a blessed and empowering Sunday! 💜
