Jeffersonville Art Municipal organization dedicated to bringing public art engagements to the City of Jeffersonsonville. Why Public Art? What is Public Art?

Public art intrigues, entertains and instills community pride. Public art also revitalizes urban areas, stimulates tourism and drives economic growth. Public art is a work of art or arts activity usually placed or staged outside with the authorization of the government or company that owns or administers the space. What is Considered Public Art? Public art includes murals, sculptures, statues, fountains, themed gardens, and items along streets (benches, bike racks, bus stops, waste cans). Public art can also be an outside event to create art, and open air performances (concerts, dance, theater, poetry, etc.).

Steamboat Festival Artist Spotlight!

Time to meet some of our Steamboat Artists!! They’ll be sharing their art and creative process at Big Four Station Park on Saturday, October 3, from 3–7 PM.

From Graphic design to poetry to woodcarving and more- this years Artists are bringing so much creativity to the event!!

Stop by to meet the artists, see what they’re creating, and celebrate the creativity in our community. We’ll see you there!

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Spring Street Window Series
Jeffersonville Public Art Commission and the Urban Enterprise Zone are seeking artists or artist teams to create original artwork for nine new metal panels along Spring Street in downtown Jeffersonville!

Theme: Windows into Spring Street

Artists will paint/create directly onto provided exterior metal panels, creating an imagined storefront, building, story, or scene inspired by Spring Street’s past, present, or future.

Propose one panel or a coordinated series of up to nine. All experience levels welcome — no previous public art experience required.
Deadline: October 31, 2026
