TODAY is Give for Good Louisville!

For one day, our community comes together to support the organizations and causes that matter to them. Family Ark has set a big goal: $10,000 by 11:59 tonight.

And we’re off to a great start! We’ve already raised more than $2,000.

What are we raising funds for today?

✓ Capital expenses for the expansion of Lotus House, helping us increase access to intensive treatment for pregnant and parenting women (these must be raised separately from the grant we announced earlier this week!)

✓ Direct client assistance that removes real-life barriers and helps families keep moving forward

✓ Specialized behavioral health treatment designed specifically for teens

✓ Wild Indigo Flower Farm and the continued growth of our new social enterprise

✓ Expanding our reach into rural communities where specialized behavioral health services can be harder to access

✓ The full range of Family Ark programs and services supporting children and families

And we’re having a little fun today, too!

Our staff and board members are competing to help us reach $10,000. Visit our Give for Good page and scroll down to see their individual fundraising pages. If you know someone on our team, consider making your gift through their page and help them in the competition!

Every gift of $5 or more through a staff member’s fundraising page earns that staff member an entry to win a $250 Visa gift card, and the staff team that raises the most will be treated to lunch by Family Ark next week.

There’s a lot of momentum at Family Ark right now. And tomorrow, you can be part of what comes next.

Just yesterday, we announced a major new federal investment that will allow us to expand Lotus House and bring a higher level of residential addiction treatment to pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women while allowing mothers to remain with their children.

And that's just one of the ways Family Ark has grown over the past year.

We've launched new addiction treatment services specifically for teens. We've continued expanding behavioral health services for children and families across Southern Indiana. We've opened Wild Indigo Flower Farm, a new social enterprise creating opportunities for meaningful work, community connection, and sustainable support for our mission.

Tomorrow is Give for Good Louisville, and we're asking our community to help us build on this momentum.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in 24 hours to give Family Ark flexible support to keep responding to needs, strengthening our programs, and building what families in our community need next.

Giving begins at 12:00 a.m. Thursday and ends at 11:59 p.m.

BIG NEWS for Family Ark and Southern Indiana families.

Family Ark has been awarded more than $2.6 million over five years from SAMHSA to expand our Lotus House program and bring a higher level of residential substance use disorder treatment to Southern Indiana.

But what matters most is what this funding makes possible:

More mothers will be able to get the intensive treatment they need without having to leave their children behind.

Through this expansion, Lotus House will add ASAM Level 3.5 residential treatment for pregnant, postpartum and parenting women, building on the treatment, recovery and family supports already available through Family Ark.

Over the next five years, we expect this expansion to reach more than 500 new women and children across Southern Indiana.

This is an incredible investment in recovery, in keeping families together and in the belief that when we support the whole family, the impact can last for generations.

We are deeply grateful to SAMHSA for this investment and to the staff, partners and supporters who have helped Family Ark continue building a stronger continuum of care for families in our community.

On Tuesday, we were thrilled to welcome members of Impact 100 Southern Indiana to Family Ark and share the impact of their 2025 grant supporting our Resilient Teens Project. 💜

Thanks to their investment, we've already:

🌱 Served 137 youth with specialized behavioral health services
🌱 Launched a teen-specific Intensive Outpatient Program, providing nine hours of intensive treatment each week for teens experiencing substance use concerns
🌱 Offered a weekly Seeking Safety Teen Outpatient Group, both on our campus and at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center

And because impact is worth celebrating, we ended the evening with a bloom bar featuring flowers grown right here at our Wild Indigo Flower Farm. 🌸

We are incredibly grateful to Impact100 Southern Indiana for believing in this work and investing in stronger futures for local teens and families.

And now, we wish their members well as they take on the exciting task of evaluating this year's grant finalists and preparing to award two more transformational grants that will make a difference across Southern Indiana!

At Family Ark, we know recovery is about more than overcoming a challenge. It’s about creating the conditions for people and families to heal, grow, reconnect, and build a stronger future.

What a weekend for Family Ark and Wild Indigo Flower Farm!

Last Friday, we officially cut the ribbon on Wild Indigo Flower Farm, and on Saturday, we welcomed our community into the field for our very first U-Pick.

After months of planning, planting, learning, problem-solving, and growing, it was pretty special to see this new part of Family Ark come to life with people walking the rows, picking flowers, making bouquets, and enjoying our campus.

Wild Indigo Flower Farm is a social enterprise of Family Ark, created to provide meaningful paid work opportunities for people participating in our programs, generate revenue to support our mission, and invite more people into the life and work of Family Ark.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us reach this milestone and to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

Now we want you to come see what’s growing at Family Ark.

Join us for an upcoming Wild Indigo U-Pick, explore the farm, cut your own flowers, and experience our 76-acre Family Ark campus in a whole new way.

We’re looking for churches, businesses, civic groups, friend groups, and other community partners to provide a Monday evening dinner for approximately 30 people participating in Family Ark’s Celebrating Families program.

And no, you don’t have to commit to every Monday! Choose one available date that works for your group.

-Mondays, September 21–December 21
-The Lodge at Family Ark | Jeffersonville, IN
-Approximately 30 people, including parents, children, and staff
-Volunteers arrive around 4:45 PM; dinner is served from 5:00–5:30 PM

Your group provides the meal, along with plates, napkins, utensils, and beverages. You’re also welcome to stay and help serve and connect with families.

Why it matters: Celebrating Families brings parents and children together to strengthen family relationships and build skills that support long-term recovery and stability. Providing dinner gives families one less thing to worry about while they focus on that work.

We're in an in-kind donations pause at Family Ark from now until September 14! Please hold your donations until this time or donate to another local charity.

On September 14, we'll resume accepting approved donations for our resource room, which is a free store for the families we serve including non-perishable food items, toiletries, new or gently used children’s clothing, new or gently used toys, and diapers. New backpacks with or without school supplies are needed throughout the year for our children in care.
