Meet our educators, and get enrollment info, and have fun at the 4-H Open House on September 16th between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at the Jefferson County UW-Extension Office! There will also be activities, games, and prizes for youth who enroll in 4-H! Members and non-members are invited to attend.

Join us in celebrating our Youth Livestock members on their wins at the State 4-H Livestock Judging contest! Jefferson County 4-H had two senior teams and one junior team that were invited to compete in the state contest by their placings in the Area Animal Science Days. Today we mourn the loss of an American icon, a beloved philanthropist and a proud 4-H alumna, Dolly Parton. Her extraordinary life was defined not only by her incredible talent, but by her unwavering generosity, compassion and commitment to helping others.

For generations of young people, Dolly embodied what it means to use your gifts in service of others. From her roots in 4-H to her lifelong investment in literacy, education and community, she showed us that true leadership is grounded in humility, kindness, and purpose. As Dolly once said, "storms make trees take deeper roots." 💚

A proud 4-H alumna, she reminded us that challenges can strengthen us and help us grow. That wisdom will continue to inspire young people and communities for generations to come. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and the millions whose lives she touched. Her legacy of hope, generosity, and service will live on. 🍀

Jefferson County had twenty-four youth livestock judgers participate in the livestock evaluation contest at the June 30th Area Animal Science Days in Clark County. Many of these youth placed very well during the contest and advanced to the State Livestock Judging competition. 4-H Award Applications are now open until September 1st. There are many awards available for both youth members and volunteers–please visit https://jefferson.extension.wisc.edu/4-h-youth-development/leaders-association/ for more information. Applications/nominations will be reviewed by the Jefferson County Leaders Association and 4-H Staff.

Join us tonight for a chance to win a Frostie Freeze - Fort Atkinson gift card or a Culver's treat!

Join us at the Watertown Public Library on Wednesday, August 19th for clues, games, and fun in a 4-H Escape Room! This activity will be held in the community room from 5:30 to 7:30 and students are welcome to start at any time. This Escape Room is a free activity primarily intended for youth ages 13-19, and is not limited to 4-H members–everyone is welcome to join!
