Happy Flag day! Our club has decided that our flags will fly until after the 250th Celebration! The town has a great celebration planned on July 4th that ends in an awesome fireworks display.
We want to thank all of our Flag Wavers! Our flag project gave 6 Students each a $1,000 Scholarship this year! Our new year starts in July and invoices are going out to renew your subscription. You can contact Kathy Whitfield 903-930-7190 if you want to join our flag wavers!

We have a card raffle at our meetings and it was finally won this week by our newest member Tyrani Braddock. She has chosen to put it all towards her Paul Harris by donating it to the Rotary Foundation with matching points by the District! Congratulations, Tyrani!

In appreciation to First National Bank of Hughes Springs for their generous use of their Building for storing donations and their parking lot for our Annual Recycling Project, the Rotary Club carried fresh baked goods for the bank employees to enjoy.
This project has turned out to be one of the favorites among the town and businesses. We collect your broken, outdated and used computers, printers, keyboards, small appliances, etc. Thank you to the many people who have donated their junk for this project. It raises money for our Dolly Parton Imagination Library project.

I am Kathy Whitfield and as a member of this Rotary Club, I am extremely proud to say that this small group of people always show up and show out! We had voted not to put up Flags this weekend for Memorial Day due to lack of help because of sickness within our club and because of the extended forecast of lots of rain. Then we had a change of mind with the sunshine yesterday. Most flags went out yesterday, but we had the bucket group that couldn’t go until this morning. These people got soaked, but the flags went up anyway! Thank you Toni, Gary, Louis, Matt and Joey!!
We honor those who fought for our freedom, are still protecting us and for those who gave their all. “Because Freedom isn’t Free” we will not forget.
