WEEN DREAM 'WEEN DREAM is a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit that provides free Halloween costumes to kids in need. Help us give the gift of Halloween!

‘WEEN DREAM provides free Halloween costumes to children in need. Our volunteers believe every child should be able to dress up and participate in Halloween, regardless of his or her family’s ability to buy a costume. We collect donated costumes (both new and gently used) throughout the year. When we receive a costume, we put certain information about it into our system (size, gender, description,

etc.). In August, we start reviewing ‘WEENSTER applications. Parents or guardians fill out a form that tells us the child’s age, size, and desired costume. We try to match ‘WEENSTERs with costumes we already have. If we don’t have a costume for a child, we add him or her to our ‘WEENSTER Pumpkin Patch so that someone will (hopefully) purchase the particular costume needed for that child. Whether through general costume donations or our ‘WEENSTER Pumpkin Patch, we try to get costumes to as many applicants as we can before Halloween. We accept costume applications from all over America and try to help as many kids get costumes as possible, no matter where they live.

A heartfelt thank you to Greening NOLA and STEM Library Lab for partnering with Ween Dream and so many other nonprofits for the Tulane Move Out Sustainability Project.

Each year, students must completely vacate their dorms, and countless usable items are left behind — furniture, clothing, kitchenware, and even costumes. Without programs like this, many of these items would end up in landfills.

Because of Greening NOLA’s vision and commitment to sustainability, these items are given a second life and placed into the hands of individuals and families who truly need them.

For Ween Dream, rescued costumes mean more children can experience the joy of imagination, creativity, and representation during Halloween. What may seem like a discarded item to one person can become something magical to another.

We are grateful to be part of a community that believes in sustainability, collaboration, and helping others. Together, we are reducing waste while making a meaningful impact in people’s lives. ♻️🎃
