Animal rescue is HARD. 😭
We got a call today about an injured stray kitten. And unlike many calls we receive, we had a finder willing to rush it to the vet, someone willing to pay the bill, a bottle feeder to foster it to full health, and a home. It seemed like the stars were perfectly aligned.
But, the kitten was just too badly injured. Fishing wire and tiny kittens are not meant to mingle and this little baby didn’t make it.
PLEASE folks, spay and neuter your pets. Please please please. For the love of all that is good and holy.
And if you can, please HELP us. We’ve got a list a mile long of cat owners needing help paying for surgeries. We NEED to be able to open our foster program - but it is going to take big bucks and willing homes. We NEED likes and comments and shares to beat Facebook’s game. And we NEED people who will call and write their commissioners, county judge, law enforcement, and aldermen to let them know that animal welfare matters to you.
Too many animals die in Marion County, sick, injured, unwanted. At least this one died today knowing a tender touch and warm voice. It knew love in its short life - but it could have been so different.
