COOPER IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A NEW SECURITY DETAIL.
Cooper is a 9-year-old Chihuahua who weighs a whopping 7 pounds but firmly believes he is responsible for the protection of several acres, multiple households, and possibly national security.
Cooper came to us as an owner surrender through JPAWS with severe luxating patellas. One back leg was beyond repair. The other was repaired surgically and healed beautifully. Could we amputate the bad leg? Sure. Would it improve his quality of life? Not really. Would it improve his appearance? Maybe. Cooper does not care. Cooper has never once looked in a mirror and thought, “I wish I was more aesthetically pleasing.”
Instead, Cooper runs around the yard screaming at danger and chasing his 65-pound foster brother as if he personally pays the property taxes.
He likes other dogs. Sometimes.
Other times, he acts like the grumpy HOA president of the backyard and would like everyone to respect his authority.
At night, he transforms into the perfect roommate. He sleeps quietly under the blankets pressed right against you and doesn’t make a peep. If he wants to be picked up, he politely paws at your ankle like a tiny Victorian orphan asking for assistance.
He gets his dental this Friday and then he’s officially ready for his next chapter.
If you’re looking for a tiny dog with a giant personality, excellent cuddling skills, questionable management techniques, and absolutely zero understanding of his actual size, Cooper may be your guy.
Cooper is currently in foster care. Approved adopters will be invited to schedule a meet and greet.
