Dear JCEA Siblings,
I am excited to share that I will be your next JCEA President. I want to thank each of you who voted, who talked with colleagues, and most importantly, who shared my vision of Joy, Justice, Safety, and Respect.
I am incredibly grateful for Michelle Moehlis who has joined me on this election journey and I am excited for how we will work together over the next three years. Thank you to the amazing team of folks who made phone calls for me, sent messages, gave me advice, and spread the word about my campaign. Thank you to every building AR who endorsed me and lent your support. I also want to thank my union siblings around Colorado and throughout the country, who gave me advice, encouraged me, and helped me through the rough patches. Your words of wisdom helped me throughout the campaign, and I hope you know I will always be there to return the favor.
I want to thank Dr. Jess Bridges for running a spirited campaign and sharing your vision. I hear your calls for creating more unity in JCEA, and I share your value of democratic unionism and will work to continue growing transparency in our union. A healthy union depends upon contested elections to give members choice in deciding their direction.
Last but not least, I want to say thank you to current JCEA President Brooke Williams for your leadership and time over the last six years. You stepped in and led bravely in a pandemic and I look to your example of how you brought all of us together during that time as I think about how I will navigate us through the challenges we now face locally, state-wide, and nationally.
They say that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This election is that first step. On June 1st, we will hit the ground running to make Jeffco the best district in the metro. I am excited to see what we can accomplish together, and I will need each of you to bring our vision to life!
In solidarity,
Ang
