About Dr. Hashimoto:

Naota Hashimoto, DC, is a chiropractor, technology co-founder, and healthcare systems strategist. After recovering from a head- on collision through chiropractic care, he dedicated his career to helping patients and improving clinical outcomes.

Two headache types. Different evidence. Updated recommendations. Clinical Compass reviewed 32 studies and convened 57 clinicians to update chiropractic headache guidelines for the first time since 2019.

Spinal manipulation earned a Grade A, the strongest possible evidence rating, for cervicogenic headache. For tension-type, the evidence supports it as part of a multimodal approach, not in isolation. Dry needling is addressed for the first time in chiropractic headache guidelines.

Includes red flags, referral criteria, contraindications, and a recommended treatment frequency: 1-2 visits per week for 4 weeks to 3 months depending on clinical context.
