🦋 A Beautiful Tribute to a Beautiful Soul
On Saturday, October 17, Bittersweet Garden Club members joined the family of our beloved Susan Stork at Memorial Park to dedicate a stainless steel butterfly sculpture in her memory.
Susan, who passed away in March, was a treasured member for 42 years and served in nearly every leadership role. But her greatest gift was the way she made people feel.
She was the heart of Bittersweet Garden Club—the one who sat beside new members, asked about their lives, and made them feel at home. Generous with her knowledge, she taught us how to make elephant ear and lotus leaf concrete molds, how to grow a better garden, and, most importantly, the meaning of friendship.
Butterflies held a special place in her heart. She loved protecting caterpillars, watching them transform, and releasing them into the wild.
What better way to honor someone who nurtured so many of us?
Thanks to the generosity of club members, the sculpture was designed and fabricated by Mike Mistler of Artistic Creations by Michael as a lasting tribute to her life and legacy.
If you're nearby, we invite you to visit Memorial Park, take a quiet moment, and see it for yourself. And if Susan touched your life, we'd love to read your memories in the comments.
Susan brought beauty and joy into our lives. Now her memory will forever take flight. 🦋
