We mourn Bill Smith, who served for 25 years in the Missouri Senate as Sergeant at Arms. Our teen participants have the privilege of using the Senate chamber during our state conferences each fall. Bill would always be on-site during these conferences, welcoming our students and teachers to the Capitol, ensuring all had a positive experience. He was kind and gracious, and it was evident he cared deeply for young people and cherished helping provide them an opportunity to experience government. Thank you Bill for all you did to make MOYAG a rewarding experience for our students.

Bill Smith, age 86, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on September 22, 2026. Please visit our website for his obituary and details for his service on Saturday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley UMC, the Alzheimer's Association, or to the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention.

Last week, we dreamed of things that never were and asked: Why not?

The Missouri Delegation had an amazing time at plenary, with Lillian Hussey being named a Distinguished Delegate, Greyson Helm being named Outstanding Statesperson and making it to Plenary (top 12 of over 600), and Elizabeth Anyimadu being named one of 6 Presiding Officers for the 2027 Conference.

From the entire MOYAG Program, thank you so much to everyone who made C**A possible!
