Wow! 4-H Day at the Capitol was a good time! We had our group photo taken, heard from Dr. Chad Higgins of MU Extension and Dr. Tim Tanner of Missouri 4-H, explored the Capitol and saw our senator in action on the Senate Floor. Special thanks to Rep. Griffith for visiting with us and Marie's Sweet Treats LLC for helping us create our cookies to share!

Thanks so much to Ms. Candice of Marie's Sweet Treats LLC for teaching our Culinary SPIN Club how to use the edible printer! We learned a lot and we were able to give them to our legislators at 4-H Day at the Capitol!

Cole County, You are so generous! Big thanks to Hy-Vee and Schulte's Fresh Foods for letting us collect food and money to combat local food insecurity. With your help, we collected more than 1,000 pounds of food and more than $600 in donations. Our Culinary SPIN Club took some of the donations and partnered with the mobile soup kitchen to prepare 160 meals. Other donations have gone to the Samaritan Center and The Pantry JC.

So glad this story has a chance to continue! Good luck on the egg hatching, Jasper! Stay strong! Embryology is not for the faint of heart!

Last night we had a Homestead Emergency: The incubator died exactly halfway to hatch day. Thank goodness for the support of our Cole County 4-H (Cole County, MO) who had a couple outdated but working incubators to lend us from their Embrology program. Amanda really saved the day: We candled this morning and 21 of 22 chicks are still alive because of a good Missouri 4-H Youth Program Associate!

You see, this batch is special as it is Jasper's 1st from the Bantam Dominiques that he chose for his first official year in the 4-H Breeding Poultry Project. He waited so long to get eggs from them to set, because when these babies grow up and breed babies of their own, those birds will be the start of our fully "homebred" line. Grow, little ones, Grow!

It's official! Due to weather, Etiquette Night is postponed to April 8, 5:30 p.m. at the United Sportsmen's Club Archery Pavilion. First practice will be the Wednesday after. Keep your powder dry!
