We are stronger when we work together.

At the 42nd NAWDP Annual Conference in Phoenix, workforce leaders gathered for the session Why Workforce Needs Both National and State Associations to discuss how collaboration across associations helps strengthen the workforce development field nationwide.

The discussion focused on the shared role associations play in supporting workforce professionals through advocacy, professional development, networking, and partnership-building. Panelists emphasized that national and state organizations each bring important perspectives and resources to the table, and together, they create a stronger support system for the workforce community.

The session was moderated by NAWDP's CEO Melissa Robbins with panelists:
• Donna Sheets, Missouri Association for Workforce Development
• Kirkland Murray, Maryland Workforce Association
• Kelly Folks, Rocky Mountain Workforce Development Association
• Brent Balog, Oregon Employment and Training Association

The workforce development community continues to show what’s possible when we lead, learn, and advocate together.
