MO Protects agrees with the Missouri Farm Bureau: Amendment 6 is bad for Missouri!

Amendment 6 would require an 80% supermajority in both the Missouri House and Senate to amend or repeal laws passed through the citizen initiative process. That means even when a law has harmful consequences, fixing it could become nearly impossible.

Missourians elect lawmakers to represent them, respond to problems, and correct bad policy. Amendment 6 would tie their hands, making it harder to protect our state from the unintended consequences of poorly written laws and special-interest agendas.

Thank you to the Missouri Farm Bureau for standing with us in opposition to Amendment 6! Missouri deserves a government that can respond to its people, not one held hostage by bad policy.

Missouri seniors spent their whole lives working to pay off their homes. Now too many of them can barely afford to stay there, because they're stuck paying for government programs full of fraud and waste.

Amendment 6 would make those programs virtually impossible to stop or fix. Once they're locked in, a small handful of legislators could block every reform, and seniors on fixed incomes would keep footing the bill.

The groups feeding you lies about what Amendment 6 would do want you to believe that you're "protecting the voice of the people!" by voting yes.

In reality, Amendment 6 would stifle the will of Missourians and would instead clear the runway for the will of out-of-state billionaires who don't care about what is best for Missourians at all.

Amendment 6 would require an 80% supermajority in both chambers of the Missouri Legislature before lawmakers could change or repeal laws passed through the initiative petition process.

That means even when a law needs fixing, a small minority of legislators could block a solution, leaving Missourians with fewer options to correct bad policy, including laws affecting our Second Amendment rights.

Missouri’s laws should serve Missourians, not out-of-state billionaires. Protect our gun laws and keep our elected representatives accountable. Vote NO on Amendment 6!

Out-of-state w**d companies sold Missouri voters on legal pot with a promise to help veterans. Now those companies are making record profits, and veterans’ programs still haven’t received the funding they were promised.

The fine print in that deal deserves a second look. Amendment 6 would make it harder to change, giving those companies another layer of protection even after the promises to veterans have fallen short. Missourians should be able to revisit a deal that hasn’t delivered what we were told it would.

Amendment 6 would open the door for special interest groups and out-of-state billionaires to sneak provisions that benefit them into the fine print of our laws and then lock them into our state constitution. This would make it much harder for our elected officials to hold these nefarious groups accountable.

Missouri belongs to Missourians, not wealthy special interests looking to buy influence over our state.

Billionaires want to put massive data centers in our backyards, leaving Missouri communities to live with the noise, the lights and the strain on our utilities. Even worse, we could be stuck paying higher electric bills to help keep their operations running.

A slick, million-dollar ad campaign can sell Missouri on a bad deal. Amendment 6 would make it harder to undo laws that clear the way for data centers, giving the billionaires behind them another layer of protection. Missouri communities would be left fighting an even steeper uphill battle to take back their own backyards.
