Community Action serves more than 250,000 low-income Missourians annually in each county through local, community-based solutions. As the statewide association, Missouri CAN strengthens the Community Action Network through education, training and advocacy for low-income families they serve. (Missouri CAN is formerly known as Missouri Association for Community Action or MACA.)

The 2027 MCAN Annual Conference: Making Waves, Leading Change will bring Community Action leaders and partners together to learn, connect, and exchange ideas. We’re looking for voices from across Missouri to help make this year’s conference meaningful and impactful.

David Buckner has been volunteering at the Missouri State Fair for an incredible 41 years!

He stopped by our booth, saw our Head Start buttons, and decided to put them on to show his support for a program he knows works!

Yesterday at the Missouri State Fair, MCAN had the opportunity to attend the Governor’s Ham Breakfast, an annual tradition that brings together state leaders, legislators, community members, and others during the Fair.

Following the breakfast, we hosted a small open house and invited legislators and candidates to stop by, learn more about Community Action, and hear about the important work being done in communities across Missouri.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to attend, connect with us, and learn more about the impact of Community Action. We appreciate the opportunity to share the work of our network and the communities we serve!

Today was our first day at the state fair, and we were excited to welcome some visitors to our booth! We had the opportunity to visit with Representative Rebecca Kroll, who stopped by to say hello and learn more about the work of Community Action. She is pictured with CAPS Business Development Coordinator, Carol Montie.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Junior State Fair Queen Aaralynn Willard to our booth! Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with us!
