Lincoln University Celebrates Adult Education and Workforce Achievement!
Lincoln University of Missouri will proudly host a combined graduation ceremony celebrating the accomplishments of adult learners who have worked diligently to transform their lives through education and workforce training.
The 2025–2026 High School Equivalency (HiSET) Graduation for the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program, along with the Lincoln University Employment Academy/ (IET) integrated Education and Training recognition, will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Martin Luther King Hall on the Lincoln University campus, located at 812 East Dunklin Street in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Lincoln University’s Adult Education and Literacy Program has long served as a vital community resource, providing free educational opportunities for adults seeking to improve foundational academic skills or earn a high school equivalency diploma. The program supports individuals age 17 and older through instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, digital literacy, English as a Second Language, and civics education. By removing financial and scheduling barriers, the program creates second-chance pathways that empower adults to pursue higher education, better employment, and active civic participation.
The graduation ceremony will also highlight the achievements of participants in the Lincoln University Employment Academy, an innovative, two-semester workforce development initiative that integrates education, career readiness, and hands-on training. The Employment Academy prepares Missouri residents for high-demand careers in fields such as office administration, accounting, direct care, and cybersecurity.
A key component of the Employment Academy is its Integrated Education and Training model, which blends adult education, workforce preparation, and occupational skills training into a cohesive learning experience. Graduates earn both a Lincoln University Certificate of Completion and a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Integrated Education and Training certificate—credentials recognized by employers statewide. Students also have the opportunity to earn college credit, positioning them for continued academic advancement at Lincoln University.
This combined graduation event represents more than diplomas and certificates—it is a celebration of perseverance, resilience, and the power of education to strengthen families, workplaces, and communities. Graduates often balance employment, parenting, and other responsibilities while pursuing their educational goals, making their accomplishments especially meaningful.
Lincoln University remains committed to workforce development, educational access, and community uplift across Missouri. The May 21 ceremony reflects that mission and honors graduates whose success stories demonstrate that lifelong learning changes lives.
Community members, families, and supporters are invited to attend and celebrate this important milestone with Lincoln University’s adult learners and workforce graduates.
Lincoln University Adult Education and Literacy program serves five Mid-Missouri Counties: Cole, Callaway, Moniteau, Morgan, and Miller.
