It's National Rivers Month! Did you know that the confluence of two mighty rivers come together along the border of our great state? The Missouri and Mississippi Rivers meet just north of St. Louis where the Muddy Missouri River traveling from west to east through the middle of the state meets the Mighty Mississippi traveling from north to south along the eastern border of the state! The waters come together slowly mixing and continuing their journey to the Gulf!

The Missouri River is the longest river in North America, and the Mississippi River Watershed is the 4th largest in the world! Over 20 million people rely on the Mississippi for drinking water. Nearly 60% of North America's birds use the Mississippi as a migration route!
