Afghans for Angels-Missouri volunteers who make small baby afghans/blankets for grieving parents that have lost an infant All afghans should be 18-24 inches square.

Please use SOFT baby yarns, knitted or crocheted with a tightly woven pattern with no openings larger than 1/8 or 1/4 inch in the weave. If you are a quilter, we accept little blankets of SOFT flannel. They can be backed with flannel or a cuddle type fabric and no batting is necessary. Birthing center nurses have specified neutral colors (white, cream, pastels, NO lavender/purple). There is a greater need for more blankets suited for boys. We remind you that these blankets are for little babies, not young children and are meant as a keepsake for parents. Design & color choices should reflect this.
