If you’re still trying to figure out what to get Dad for Father’s Day, here’s an idea.

Sentry Defense donated one of the most popular prizes at our golf tournament last year. It didn’t stay on the prize table for long!

We’re grateful for their support of our tournament and our mission. Give them a look if you’re searching for something a little different this Father’s Day.

Father’s Day is only 3 weeks away.

Don’t let it sneak up on you.

If you’re tired of buying the same gifts every year, now is a great time to start thinking about something Dad will actually enjoy.

Whether it’s range time, a membership, training, a gift card, or gear he’ll use all year long, we’ve got plenty of ideas to help make Father’s Day memorable.

The best gifts aren’t always things.

Sometimes they’re experiences and time spent together.

Stop by and start checking Dad off your list early.

The Carrollton bus crash remains the deadliest drunk driving crash in U.S. history and changed transportation safety laws across the country.

The tragedy led to stronger DUI enforcement, increased awareness around impaired driving, improved school bus safety standards, and better emergency exits on buses.

Today we remember the victims, survivors, and families forever impacted by that night while also recognizing there is still so much work to do when it comes to ending impaired driving. 🤍

38 years ago today, 67 lives were forever changed in the Carrollton bus crash—the deadliest drunk driving crash in U.S. history.

27 people were killed, including 24 children, and more than 30 others were injured.
What should have been a safe trip home became a tragedy that impacted every person on that bus, and countless lives beyond it.

This is the reason we continue to work to end impaired driving.

We remember them.

And just like that, multiple lives changed forever. 💔

Two Teenagers Killed in Concordia Parish Crash, Impairment Suspected

Concordia Parish – On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 12:37 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash at 518 Minorca Road. The crash claimed the lives of 17-year-old Michelle Baity of Natchez, MS, and 19-year-old Jacob Bonnette of Vidalia.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2001 Infiniti QX4, driven by 18-year-old Gregory Steele of Vidalia, was northbound on Minorca Road. For reasons still under investigation, Steele lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and overturned.

Steele, who was not restrained, sustained minor injuries. Baity and Bonnette, who also were not restrained, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene. An additional passenger, who was also not restrained, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted. Louisiana State Police would like to remind all motorists that if you feel differently, you drive differently. Alcohol, prescription drugs, and other drugs have many effects on the body that negatively affect driving skills. These drugs can impair visual ability, alter the sense of time and space, impair fine motor skills needed to operate a motor vehicle, and decrease reaction times. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and designate a sober driver. Not doing so can have deadly consequences.

After speaking to over 1,000 juniors and seniors at Sulphur High, the room stayed completely silent the entire time. When you have that many students locked in like that, you can assume the message is landing, but you don’t fully know.

Afterwards, Luke, a senior on their student media team, reached out asking to do a story on our message and its impact. That confirmed it.

A few weeks later, he met us at Vinton High to film the presentation and interview us after. Sulphur High having a student media team like this is something you don’t see everywhere, and it’s really cool to see students given the opportunity to create work like this.

This is what he put together. He did an incredible job, and we are genuinely proud and impressed by the work he did and the initiative he took to make this happen. You’re gonna go far, kid! 💙💛

That’s a wrap on our 2025–2026 school year.

While we do love getting to travel and share our message outside of Acadiana, this is home. Acadiana is the heart of what we do, and we’re so grateful to have a school system that sees the value in this message and continues to open the door for us.

We may only have about an hour with these students, but it’s real. It’s not just a presentation. It’s a true story that gets their attention, keeps them engaged, and challenges them to make smart, responsible decisions. You can feel the impact in the room.

It’s encouraging to know we’re reaching so many students right here in our community. It gives us real hope for a safer generation ahead.

Our hearts are heavy for both Baton Rouge and Lafayette. A senseless act of violence in Baton Rouge has now deeply impacted students and families right here in our own community. One life lost. Others forever changed.

This comes on the heels of another tragedy in our state just last week, where multiple children lost their lives. The weight of that alone is devastating. Seeing young lives taken and families shattered like this is something no community should have to face.

Every loss of a child is devastating. Every family affected by this violence is facing something no family should ever have to go through.

But knowing that several of the victims are students from a school connected to the Sudden Impact program makes this hit especially close for us. These are young people we are committed to, who we care deeply about, and who should have had full futures ahead of them.

Our hearts especially ache for the parents. The weight of what they are now facing is something no parent should ever have to carry.

It is heartbreaking to know more families are now facing a road no one should ever have to walk, and that so many young people will carry the weight of this trauma with them.

We are praying for the victims, their families, their school community, and everyone affected across both Baton Rouge and Lafayette, especially the Odom family.

These families need our prayers. Their lives are forever changed. 💔

So thankful for the opportunity to share our story at Vinton High School.

A huge thank you to Merchants & Farmers Bank for sponsoring this visit and to Chief Spell for helping make it happen. It means so much to see leaders in a community who truly care about their students and prioritize bringing messages like this to them.

We’ve found that these close knit communities often feel this message the deepest, and it speaks volumes about how much they care about protecting their people.

Grateful we were able to be there and already looking forward to the next time. ❤️

We loved this group. ❤️

TROOP C NEWS RELEASE UPDATE

Driver Arrested for Vehicular Homicide Following Fatal Crash in Terrebonne Parish

Chauvin – Troopers have continued to investigate the crash that claimed the life of 58-year-old Aljean Ledet. Following the crash, standard toxicology samples were collected from the driver of the Pontiac, 21-year-old Michael Boudreaux of Raceland. The toxicology sample results indicated that Boudreaux’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit at the time of the crash. Based on these findings, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop C obtained an arrest warrant for Boudreaux through the 32nd Judicial District Court on charges of Vehicular Homicide, DWI (1st Offense), Reckless Operation, No Seatbelt, and Driving Under Suspension.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Boudreaux turned himself in to Troopers and was booked into the Terrebonne Criminal Justice Complex for the outstanding warrant. This crash remains under investigation.

Initial Release March 26, 2026:

Unrestrained Chauvin Man Killed in Terrebonne Parish Crash

Chauvin – On March 25, 2026, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 56 and Josie Court in Terrebonne Parish. The crash claimed the life of 58-year-old Aljean Ledet of Chauvin.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Pontiac G6 was traveling north on LA Hwy 56 at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Ledet, was also traveling north on LA Hwy 56 ahead of the Pontiac. For reasons still under investigation, the Pontiac failed to slow down and struck the rear of the Chevrolet. After the initial impact, the Chevrolet exited the roadway to the right and overturned.

Ledet, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Pontiac was also unrestrained, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to an out-of-area hospital.

Routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving. Avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions, and follow all traffic laws. Most importantly, ensure every occupant in the vehicle is properly restrained. Seat belts remain one of the most effective ways to prevent serious injury or death in a crash. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
