We’re excited to invite everyone to the 3rd Annual Acadiana Y.H.E.C. Hunting & Fishing Banquet on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Bayou Bend Conference Center in Franklin!

This banquet is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Every dollar raised helps support the young boys and girls in our Acadiana YHEC program by covering the cost of ammunition, supplies, and instructional materials. Your support directly impacts youth hunter education in our community.

Join us for a great meal, raffles, auctions, games, and an evening celebrating the next generation of safe, responsible hunters.

Secure your certifications in advance of hunting season. A Hunter Education Certification Field has been scheduled in Franklin, La. May 16, 2026. Students may complete the online course to participate.

If you are considering participating with a child in our 2026 Take your Family Fishing Tournament . Please pre-register your kiddo by APRIL 10th so we can make sure we have enough T-shirts , goody bags, medals , door prizes and certificates for all the kiddos. We want to make sure all kids receive something. Sometimes the worst feeling for kids is the feeling of being left out

We’re proud to celebrate the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 — Caroline Ellerbe of Wisner and Kaiden Scarborough of Haynesville! 🏹 These young hunters showcased skill, respect for the outdoors, and a true passion for Louisiana’s hunting traditions.

🌟 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱! LDWF and the Louisiana Wildlife Federation will select one boy and one girl who best represent the joy, thrill, and camaraderie of hunting.

📅 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
▪ Must be a Louisiana resident
▪ 15 years old or younger at the time of the hunt
▪ Hunt must take place between Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025
▪ Short story written by the youth
▪ Hunt does not have to result in the harvesting of an animal
▪ One entry per youth; previous winners not eligible

🎁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀:
Winners receive a plaque, a gift card, and recognition at LWF’s 60th Annual Conservation Achievement Awards in April 2026. Everyone who enters will be included in a drawing for a $100 gift card.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting Louisiana’s abundant natural resources. The department issues hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses, as well as boat titles and registrations.
